Beavercreek held off a seventh-inning rally to defeat Northmont 7-6 in high school baseball Monday, April 27.

The T-Bolts trailed 7-5 in the top of the seventh with the bases loaded and no outs but were unable to score the tying run.

Zach Gossett had a home run and four RBIs for ’Creek, which has won its last three GWOC matchups (Wayne, Centerville and Northmont).

Beavercreek improved to 11-4; Northmont fell to 12-4.

Vandalia 5, Sidney 3: The Aviators held off the Yellow Jackets’ rally. Kevin Ralston (6-1) picked up the win and Tony Cono grabbed his sixth save and also had a double and two RBIs. Vandalia improved to 12-6; Sidney fell to 12-6.

Tippecanoe 10, Stebbins 0: Kyle Stover (2-0) scattered three hits across six innings for the shutout. His brother, Todd Stover, doubled. Tippecanoe improved to 13-6; Stebbins is 1-12.

Softball

Carroll 2, Chaminade Julienne 1: Carroll pitcher Ronni Burns (6-4) allowed two hits and struck out 19. Lyndsey Diggs was the hard-luck loser for the Eagles after striking out nine and allowing three hits. Alaina Rutledge doubled and drove in both of the Patriots’ runs. Carroll improved to 7-5.

Milton-Union 1, Bradford 0: Katy Fullmer scattered four hits and struck out nine over seven innings. A wild pitch scored the only run of the game for the Bulldogs. Milton-Union moved to 9-7; Bradford fell to 3-12.

Belmont 17, Xenia Nazarene 6: The patient Bisons’ offense drew 20 walks and stole 10 bases. Brittney Little went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs and Leah Clay (6-4) picked up the win for Belmont (6-4).
