BOYS

Wayne (12-2, 5-0 GWOC) at Fairmont (7-7, 2-3), 7:30 p.m. today: Wayne remains the area’s top-rated big-school team coming off three consecutive wins. Fairmont has been up and down, as the Firebirds battled health issues early and are coming off a rivalry loss to Alter.

Alter (5-7, 1-4 GCL) vs. CJ (12-1, 5-0), 7:30 p.m. today, Nutter Center: Part of a doubleheader with the schools' girls teams, any meeting between these rivals is notable. CJ is rolling, ranked No. 2 in the state in Division II with 11 straight wins. Alter has struggled for consistency but beat another rival, Fairmont, on Tuesday.

Marshall (9-3, 5-1 City) at Meadowdale (6-7, 3-3), 7:30 p.m. today: These two met in the season’s second game, and host Marshall dropped Meadowdale 67-62. Marshall has lost only to Dunbar and CJ, the Nos. 1 and 2 teams in the state in D-II, and in Flyin’ to the Hoop against a North Carolina private school.

GIRLS

Alter (15-0, 6-0 GGCL) vs. CJ (11-5, 5-2), 6 p.m. today, Nutter Center: Alter won the first matchup with a driving layup by guard Ashley Christie in the final seconds for a one-point victory. The Knights will try to maintain their No. 1 ranking in the state as CJ comes off a rivalry win against Beavercreek.

Vandalia Butler (11-4, 3-2 GWOC) at Trotwood-Madison (11-4, 4-0), 7:30 p.m. Saturday: Trotwood holds the lead in the GWOC North Division and topped Butler 56-48 earlier this season, knocking the Aviators from the top spot in the DDN area Division I ratings. Butler is looking to close the divisional race.

Waynesville (11-3) at Bellbrook (10-3), 7:30 p.m. Saturday: Waynesville has won six straight since a loss in the December Braggin’ Rights Classic, but Bellbrook counters with eight straight wins since starting 2-3 with losses against three of the area’s best big-school teams. This is a juicy non-divisional SWBL matchup.
