Staff Report Updated 1:09 AM Friday, December 2, 2011

Kendrick Williams

Fairborn, 5-11, sr., G

Scouting report: An outstanding talent and high-scoring three-year starter for the Skyhawks. Averaged 18.6 points per game as a junior and was the GWOC South MVP. Led the entire conference in scoring as a sophomore at a 22.1 clip. Already has surpassed 1,000 career points. Should become Fairborn’s all-time scoring leader.

Andre Yates

Dunbar, 6-1, sr., G

Scouting report: A smooth left-hander who has signed with Creighton after being recruited by UD, among others. Transferred from Trotwood-Madison last spring. Had a breakout season with the Rams as a junior, averaging a team-high 15.4 points. Flourished in summer AAU play and will be counted on to ignite the Wolverines’ backcourt.

Deontae “Teddy” Hawkins

Dunbar, 6-8, sr., F

Scouting report: A rare four-year starter for the Wolverines and the latest highly recruited Dunbar big man. Signed with Wichita State after it was thought that he might be headed to UD. Averaged a team-high 16.1 points. More of a finesse player with a deep shooting range. Also is money in Dunbar’s high-speed transition game.

John Staley

CJ, 6-5, sr., C

Scouting report: An effective three-year starter for the Eagles and the son of head coach Joe Staley. Averaged 17.7 points and 7.4 rebounds last season and was the principal reason why CJ recovered from an 0-7 start to finish 10-6. Put a season-high 28 points on Alter and went for 23 in a tourney loss to Dunbar. Signed with Northern Kentucky.

Joe Thomasson

Marshall, 6-4, sr., G/F

Scouting report: Emerged as a budding recruit during Thurgood’s run to the D-II state title game last season. Averaged 11.7 points on a balanced team that leaned on since-graduated Jordan Watson. Exceptionally quick and a great finisher. His inside play belies a rail-thin stature. Will sit out one year at WSU before joining the Raiders.
