OXFORD — Miami University’s football team will play a home-and-home series against Missouri in 2010 and 2012, MU announced today.

The series with Missouri will feature games in Columbia in 2010 and in Oxford in 2012. The Tigers and RedHawks have not met in football.

“We are very excited to be playing one of the premier college football teams in the country and especially to have the opportunity to host Missouri at Yager Stadium for our students, alumni and fans,” Miami athletic director Brad Bates said. “We are appreciative of Missouri’s partnership in the series and look forward to competing with such an exceptional program.”

The games against the Big 12 Tigers continue Miami’s push to play teams from power conferences. This year, the RedHawks play BCS schools Kentucky, Cincinnati and Northwestern. In addition, MU travels to perennial power Boise State.

In 2010, in addition to the trip to Missouri, the RedHawks play at Florida and Cincinnati while hosting Colorado State and Boise State.
