OXFORD — An all-around effort and a large early lead helped the Miami field hockey team to a 5-1 victory at home over the 17th-ranked Indiana Hoosiers. The RedHawks improve to 5-4 this season while No. 17 Indiana falls to 5-3.
Miami got a pair of goals from Maggie Marcum and one each from Christin Brightwell, Kate Snyder and Olivia Miller. Assists were provided by Jackie Nguyen, Katie Brightwell, Christin Brightwell and Snyder.
The RedHawks now take to the road to face conference foe Central Michigan this Sunday at noon.
