MU spikers split in Challenge event
ST. LOUIS — The Miami University volleyball team split a pair of matches Saturday, Aug. 29, in the Active Ankle Challenge.
The RedHawks defeated Alabama 24-26, 25-16, 19-25, 25-19, 15-10, led by Maria Leahy (16 kills, 17 digs), Hallie Hanks (15 kills) and Michele Metzler (12 kills).
MU lost to 20th-ranked St. Louis 26-24, 25-12, 19-25, 26-24, led by Leahy (16 kills), Hanks (13 kills), Megan Griffin (10 kills) and Lisa Treadway (23 digs).
Miami is 1-2 travel to Indianapolis on Saturday, Sept. 5, to participate in the IUPUI Hampton Inn Invitational. The RedHawks will face Northwestern at 10 a.m. and Western Kentucky at 4:30 p.m.
