SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Natalie Novosel scored 17 of her 21 points in the first half to help No. 2 Notre Dame coast to a 90-70 victory over DePaul on Sunday.

The Irish (23-1, 10-0 Big East) scored 56 points in the first half, shooting 72 percent from the field — including hitting six of their seven 3-pointers.

Skylar Diggins added 11 points and 10 assists.

No. 2 Notre Dame (23-1, 10-0) scored 56 points in the first half on its way to an easy 90-70 win over in Big East action. Three other Irish scored in double figures, including Natalie Achonwa (16) Brittany Mallory (14) and Devereaux Peters (11).

Jasmine Penny scored 24 points and Katherine Harry had 20 for DePaul (17-7, 5-5), a team that has been beset by a season-long injury bug. The Blue Demons are down to only seven players.

The game was tied at 12 before Notre Dame went on a 17-2 run led by Novosel to take control of the game. She had 11 points and two assists during the burst that left the Irish up 29-14 with 9:37 left in the half.

Notre Dame continued its offensive onslaught building a 56-31 halftime lead. Achonwa had 12 of her points in the first half, making all five of her shots.

The Irish opened the second half with an 11-2 run to put the score at 67-33 before Irish head coach Muffet McGraw started to flood the floor with substitutes and DePaul was able to narrow the gap.
