A look at the six teams not named UD or Georgia Tech that are competing in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off Classic:

Villanova (2-0)

Finished 30-8 last season and reached the Final Four. ... Picked to win the Big East in a vote of the league’s coaches. ... Senior guard Scottie Reynolds, who hit the game-winning basket against Pittsburgh in the NCAA regional finals, was a preseason first-team all-league pick after averaging 15.2 points and a team-high 3.4 assists while making 75 3-pointers last year. ... Junior guard Corey Fisher, the Big East sixth man of the year last season, also returns.

George Mason (2-0)

Picked to finish fourth in the Colonial Athletic Association. ... Finished 22-11 and played in the NIT in 2008-09 for its seventh postseason appearance in the past 11 years. ... Junior guard Cam Long, one of two returning starters, made the All-CAA third team after leading GM in scoring (11.7 per game) and assists (3.2). ... Sophomore forward Ryan Pearson made the league’s all-rookie team. ... The Patriots host Dayton on Dec. 8.

Indiana (2-0)

Coach Tom Crean inherited a mess, but the prospects are much brighter this year. Three starters return, and fans are buzzing about three dynamic freshmen: 6-foot-5 guard Maurice Creek and 6-9 forwards Christian Watford and Derek Elston. ... Creek and Watford lead the team in scoring at 15.5 per game. ... Among the returnees are two double-figure scorers from last year, 6-7 senior forward Devan Dumes (12.7) and 6-5 guard Verdell Jones III (11.0).

Boston University (0-2)

Unanimous choice in the vote of the coaches to win the America East Conference, the third straight year the Terriers have gotten the preseason nod. ... First-year coach Patrick Chambers, a former Villanova assistant, will take over a squad that went 17-13 last season but returns its top six scorers, including unanimous preseason all-conference honorees John Holland and Corey Lowe. ... BU visits Dayton on Dec. 29.

Mississippi (2-0)

Picked by the coaches to finish second in the Southeastern Conference West behind Mississippi State. ... The Rebels have a unanimous preseason All-SEC selection in sophomore guard Terrico White, who was named league freshman of the year last season. ... Junior guard Chris Warren was named to the preseason second team. ... Former Cincinnati assistant Andy Kennedy is 63-39 in his fourth season as head coach ... Ole Miss won the 2007 San Juan Shootout.

Kansas State (2-0)

The Wildcats were picked to finish fourth in the Big 12. Advanced to postseason for the third straight year last season, reaching the NIT second round. ... The team has posted three consecutive 20-win seasons for the first time since the mid-1980s. ... Shooting guard Denis Clemente earned conference newcomer of the year honors, while junior Jacob Pullen, who spurned Dayton for K-State as a Chicago-area recruit, is one of the Big 12’s top point guards.
