University of Dayton junior baseball player Brian Blasik was named the Atlantic 10 player of the week for the week of April 4-10.

The Valley View High School graduate guided the Flyers to a 2-1 series victory at the University of Massachusetts with a .500 batting average, nine hits, five RBIs and three stolen bases.

Blasik’s week was highlighted on April 9 when he had a season-high four hits including his second home run of the year and three runs scored from the lead-off position in an 8-6 win. He followed that game with a 3-for-5 performance in the series finale with a double and three RBIs in a 6-4 win.

The A-10 weekly honor is a first for the Flyers this season and a first for Blasik’s career.
