About the Huskies

They are picked to finish second in the Colonial Athletic Association, just as WSU was picked to finish second in the Horizon League. Matthews Arena, where the Huskies play, is touted to be the world’s oldest multi-purpose arena, built in 1910 and refurbished this past year. Opening-round victory in last season’s CBI tournament was school’s first postseason victory since 1984. To help pay for the arena, the school announced it is dumping football after 74 seasons. The school was spending $4 million annually on the sport and averaging fewer than 2,000 fans during a sixth-straight losing season at 3-8. Former Bengals tight end Dan Ross played here.

About the Raiders

They have won three straight and after this game jump into Horizon League play hosting Cleveland State and Youngstown State on Thursday and Saturday. After that, it’s six more nonconference games before the rest of the HL schedule begins. Coach Brad Brownell won’t say when junior Vaughn Duggins gets back into the starting lineup, but he was the only player to play more than 30 minutes (31) against Central Michigan on Tuesday. Todd Brown, who had only five 20-point games last season, has three already and is shooting 57.4 percent.
