About Wright State

The Raiders fell into eighth place in the Horizon League with a 53-48 loss against UW-Green Bay on Friday night during which Mpondo and Arceneaux each scored 12 points. It was the 11th time this season Arceneaux has scored in double figures, and he also averages 2.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists. Mpondo added five rebounds on Friday, the fourth time this season he produced that many, and his 12 points tied the third most in his career. WSU ranks second in the league in scoring defense in conference games (57.9 ppg) but ninth in scoring offense in those games (56.9).

About Milwaukee

The Panthers led Detroit by 11 points with 13:10 left before losing 58-57 on Friday as Meier was the only Milwaukee player in double figures at 17 points. Milwaukee had 25 turnovers and lost despite five points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals from Williams. A preseason all-league first teamer, he leads the league in assists (6.4) and also averages 5.3 rebounds. The Panthers are 2-5 in their last seven despite having the league’s second-best scoring defense (60.4 ppg) and seven players who average better than eight points per game.

FYI

The Panthers led by as many as 25 points in the teams’ first meeting this season before beating WSU 58-38. ... One more WSU loss will secure a losing regular-season record.

Quote, unquote

“Kaylon Williams has probably been the best point guard in the league — he finds guys that get open. They’re very, very big, they can make 3s, and they’re as good as anybody in the country at defending the 3-point line, which is a strength of ours.” — WSU coach Billy Donlon.
