The Wright State men’s basketball team will travel to face Missouri-Kansas City on Saturday, Feb. 18, in the annual BracketBusters event. The game time has not been announced.
Miami University will host Tennessee State at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19, in a BracketBusters game.
UMKC (9-15) stands in eighth place in the Summit League at 3-9. Senior guard Reggie Chamberlain leads the team with a 16.9-point scoring average, while junior forward Thomas Staton boosts his scoring average from 8.3 points to 11.3 points in conference play.
UMKC assistant coach Stephen Brough was a Wright State assistant in 2002-03 and also earned degrees, was a student assistant and coached at Miami University.
Tennessee State (13-10) is tied with Austin Peay for third in the Ohio Valley Conference at 6-4, including three straight wins. Junior forward Robert Covington averages 17.7 points and 7.8 rebounds to lead the Tigers.
The RedHawks are 4-0 in home BracketBusters games, including a 69-53 victory against OVC member Southeast Missouri State two seasons ago.
Fan vote: Also Monday, WSU learned that its Feb. 10 home game against Wisconsin-Green Bay will begin at 9 p.m. and be broadcast on ESPNU. The broadcast was determined by a vote on the ESPN Home Court Facebook page, as WSU-Green Bay surpassed Milwaukee at Detroit.
