DAYTON — "We're All in this Together."
For fans of Disney's "High School Musical," those words have special resonance not only as a bonding sentiment, but also as a hit song title.
Extras
This summer, Dayton area fans of the popular teen film franchise will have a chance to come all together for a concert event featuring two of its principal stars.
Vanessa Hudgens and Corbin Bleu are scheduled to perform Aug. 26 at Fifth Third Field, home of the Dayton Dragons baseball team, in downtown Dayton.
Hudgens, who plays lead character Gabriella in both the original Disney movie and its sequel, has a variety of theatrical credits, including her film debut in "Thirteen," co-starring Holly Hunter and Evan Rachel Wood. She recently completed work on the film "Will," about a high school misfit and a popular girl who form a bond through their love for music.
In addition to acting, she also is pursuing a recording career, having released a solo album, "V," on Hollywood Records, in 2006. According to her publicity firm, PMK/HBH, Hudgens' second album on the Hollywood label is due out this summer.
Bleu, who plays Chad in both Disney films, debuted his first solo album, "Another Side," in 2007. He also starred in another hit Disney movie, "Jump In."
Both Hudgens and Bleu also are slated to star in the forthcoming "High School Musical 3: Senior Year," set for release in October.
Tickets for the Aug. 26 concert go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday, June 13, at the Fifth Third Field box office and all Ticketmaster outlets. Prices are to be announced.
Dragons' sponsors, suite holders and season ticket holders will get a pre-sale ticket offer from the Dragons front office, according to the presenter, Meridian Entertainment Group.
