Faith day brings together Mercyme, Veggietales, and the Reds

Thousands of Reds fans and music lovers are gearing up for Sunday's Faith Day with the Reds at Great American Ball Park. Audiences will not only be able to cheer on the Cincinnati Reds as they play the San Diego Padres at 1:15 p.m., they also will be treated to a free postgame concert.
Grammy and Dove award-winning Christian band MercyMe will perform the national anthem and will be the musical act at the end of the game. Special appearances will be made by VeggieTales' Bob and Larry. Cincinnati Reds players Josh Hamilton and David Weathers will each share personal stories.

Faith Day is a local, churchwide event and outreach opportunity that draws thousands. It is hosted by Third Coast Sports.
The Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds, Houston Astros, Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Dodgers, Milwaukee Brewers, Minnesota Twins, St. Louis Cardinals, Texas Rangers and Washington Nationals will all put on faith-based events in 2007, as will more than 30 minor-league teams.
The artist lineup for all of the cities includes MercyMe, Jeremy Camp, The Afters and Hawk Nelson.
