We do love our festivals, be they in honor of corn or strawberries or sauerkraut or potatoes ... wine or pork or poultry. We'll celebrate any kind of culture: Appalachian, Celtic, Hispanic, Shawnee and mixed — as in July's Cityfolk Festival, where everything goes.
Any reason, any animal, vegetable, mineral or dessert (there's a banana split festival in Wilmington) will do if there's a weekend and it's summertime.
