"Order a cake with the American flag on it, like this one (she gestures), and just eat it, Colin (Jost)," she said, speaking to the Weekend Update co-anchor.
When Jost informed Fey that some rallies had already been canceled, she seemed pleased. "You see, it's working already," she said. "Sheet caking is a grassroots movement, Colin. Most of the women I know have been doing it once a week since the election."
Fey continued presenting her "argument."
"In conclusion, I really want to say — to encourage all good, sane Americans to treat these rallies this weekend like the opening of a thoughtful movie with two female leads," she said. "Don't show up."
Almost immediately, the hashtags "#sheetcakemovement" and "#sheetcaking" began circulating on social media, Philly.com reported.
