Talking about his dysfunctional family worked out pretty well for Christopher Titus.
He has used the experiences as the basis for his stand-up comedy and for his Fox sitcom, “Titus,” which ran from 2000 to 2002.
The California native — who performs at the Funny Bone Comedy Club Friday and Saturday, Feb. 5 and 6 — wants a more stable life for his two kids.
However, he admits a certain amount of dysfunction is inevitable given his acrimonious divorce in 2006.
“When the divorce was going full speed, I was having fights with their mom,” Titus said.
“My kids are screwed up for life. I’m gonna call it now. Whatever the time is, we’re calling it,’’ he said
‘‘Part of me likes that there’s some damage there so they actually have to face that life isn’t perfect. I try to point out to my kids that you have to be tough to survive it and they’ve picked that up. They’re both tough little kids.”
“Love is Evol,” the comic’s latest special, premiered on Comedy Central in February 2009.
He’s already more than 30 minutes into his next 90-minute show, “Neverlution,” which deals with “having kids in the world.”
