HUBER HEIGHTS — Tony Melendez, a singer-songwriter who was born with no arms and plays the guitar with his feet, will make three Dayton area appearances next week.

Along with his Toe Jam Band, he will give a two-hour concert for the general public at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 6161 Chambersburg Road, Huber Heights. Donations will be accepted.

He will perform at 8 a.m. Monday for students at Carroll High School, 4524 Linden Ave.

Also an inspirational speaker, Melendez will give the featured presentation Sunday during the Archdiocese of Cincinnati’s “Cast Your Nets” youth rally from 5 to 9 p.m. at St. Luke Parish, 1440 N. Fairfield Road, Beavercreek. More than 200 students from area parishes are expected to attend.

Born in Nicaragua, Melendez, 49, was inspired to launch his music ministry after performing for Pope John Paul in 1987. He has recorded several albums. He now lives in Branson, Mo.

For information, call St. Peter Church, (937) 233-1503, or visit www.tonymelendez.com.

Although advance registration closed Oct. 21 for “Cast Your Nets,” walk-in registration is encouraged. Cost is $5. The event will also include a mass, live music and food.
