Basil’s on Market will host a fund-raising event this Thursday that will showcase the new restaurant’s menu items.
“A Taste of Wishes,” an inaugural event benefiting Make A Wish Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, will be held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at the restaurant at 312 N. Patterson Blvd., on the banks of the Great Miami River.
The event will allow guests to circulate and mingle. It will feature seven food stations and unlimited tastes of Basil’s on Market specialties, along with two drink tickets, as well as a silent auction of gift baskets, jewelry, art, and travel packages. The cost of admission is $50, and tickets can be purchased at tasteofwishesdayton.eventbrite.com.
Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
The downtown Dayton Basil’s opened in July on the ground floor of a retail and office building on North Patterson Boulevard at East Monument Avenue, overlooking the Great Miami River. It’s part of the Water Street mixed-use development along the river. The 4,800-square-foot restaurant seats 150 to 160 inside, and another 120 or so on a 2,200-square-foot patio overlooking the river and its fountains.
Basil’s on Market operates a restaurant-pub in Troy that opened in 2014. Basil’s co-founder and executive chef Todd Uhlir served as executive chef at the Troy Country Club for nine years prior to launching the Troy restaurant
