2) BARRY CRIMMINS
Barry Crimmins has been presenting his own distinctive brand of comedy since the 1970s, and has inspired comedians as diverse as Bobcat Goldthwait, Margaret Cho, Marc Maron and Patton Oswald. The veteran stand-up was the subject of Goldthwait's 2015 documentary, "Call Me Lucky." Crimmins performs at Wiley's Comedy Joint, 101 Pine St., Dayton, on Friday and Saturday, July 28 and 29. 4) BEER TASTING
It has been nearly 10 years since the Trolley Stop, 530 E. Fifth St., Dayton, began hosting its monthly beer tasting with the help of Belmont Party Supply. The longtime craft beer event, returning to the Oregon District tavern at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, still packs in beer enthusiasts each month. Arrive early because the bar fills up quickly. 5) CANOEGRASS
Live bluegrass, canoeing and camping make Canoegrass unlike any other music festival in the area. The event returns to Adventures on the Great Miami, 1995 Ross Road, Tipp City, Thursday through Sunday, Aug. 3 through 6. The lineup includes Buffalo Wabs and the Price Hill Hustle, the Repeating Arms, Fox Valley Harvest and Old News. 6) “CLUE”
With colorful characters like Colonel Mustard, Miss Scarlet and Professor Plum, the board game "Clue" was a prime candidate for a big screen adaptation. 8) GARY OWEN
Cincinnati-native Gary Owen first made his name as a stand-up comedian but he has also branched out in other areas. He co-hosted the clip show, "Upload" with former NBA player Shaquille O'Neal, and appeared in the hit 2012 film "Think Like a Man" and its 2014 sequel. His reality series, "The Gary Owen Show," premiered on BET in 2016. Owen returns to town for a run at Funny Bone Comedy Club, 88 Plum St., The Greene, Beavercreek. 10) DINOS TO DODOS
The temporary exhibition, "Dinos to Dodos," which opened in October 2016, will be winding up its run at the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery, 2600 Deweese Pkwy., Dayton, on Aug. 20. There are still a few weeks left to check out "Dinos to Dodos," which is billed as an Exhibition through Extinction.
