Teams of birders fanned out to 12 Miami Valley locations on Sunday, Dec. 26, for the 87th Dayton Audubon Society Christmas Bird Count. The count helps to provide information on the early winter distribution of species and provide an indicator of the overall health of the environment.

The Fourth annual Art to Buy last minute shopping event was held at DVAC (Dayton Visual Arts Center) on Thursday, December 23 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. The gallery store will be open Christmas Eve day from 11-2 for additional shopping. DVAC is located at 118 North Jefferson Street.
One reportedly shot in face
One person was reportedly shot in the face at the intersection of Gardendale Avenue and Watkins Place around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010. Police marked off a crime scene at the residential intersection as well as another down the road at Gardendale and Swinger Drive.

Ten marijuana plants found
Dayton Police removed about ten marijuana plants and a grow light from an upstairs bedroom at 1950 Deanwood Ave in Dayton. Police were there to oversee a man moving out of the house he shared with a woman to ensure no problems occurred during their duties they found the plants.
