Bethel Twp. home destroyed by fire
Firefighters battle a house in the 200 block of Eastwood Drive, in Bethel Township early Saturday morning. Crews arrived and found the house fully involved. Two people who live in the house managed to escape without being injured.

Area high school wrestlers competed Friday, Dec. 31, 2011, in the Greater Miami Valley Wrestling Association Holiday Tournament at Wright State University. Washington Court House won overall and small-school titles. Centerville was second overall.

Springboro beat Middletown, 49-47, to win the Domino's Holiday Tournament on Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at Springboro High School.

Madison High School played Belmont in the championship game of the Brian Cook Classic on Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at Madison. Middletown Christian and Cincinnati Oyler met in the consolation game.

An arsonist torched car after car on the streets of Hollywood and neighboring West Hollywood Friday morning, sending firefighters scrambling.

Vaccination clinic for pets
A vaccination clinic at the Montgomery County Animal Resource Center in Dayton was held Wednesday, December 28, 2011. The clinic is a result of an ASPCA grant for the vaccination of cats and dogs whose owners cannot afford yearly routine vaccinations.
Historic nativity at St. Mary
The large historic nativity at St. Mary Catholic Church in Dayton on Dec. 27. The church spends about 120 person-hours creating the nativity and then, adding the baby Jesus on Dec. 24.
Plane crash sends 4 to hospital
At least four people were taken to the hospital following a plane crash on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011 near the Warren County Airport. The plane crashed shortly after takeoff as it circled back to land, according to Ohio Highway Patrol Lt. Mike Sanders.
