A rich and colorful history

The Dayton Daily News served as the nucleus of a modern media empire that spans from newspapers to cable television to the Internet, along with non-media businesses.

OUR FOUNDER: James M. Cox founded a chain of newspapers, served three terms as Governor of Ohio and in Congress, and was the Democratic nominee for president in 1920.

A DAYTON LANDMARK: The Dayton Daily News headquarters building at Fourth and Ludlow Streets has been a downtown landmark since 1910.

OUR LANDMARK PLANT: Our Print Technology Center in Franklin is the most advanced newspaper plant in North America and a landmark in its own right along Interstate 75
