THE THREE PRESSES rise six stories in the Print Technology Center's press hall.

In the Spring of 1999, barely six months after celebrating its centennial, the Dayton Daily News began printing operations at its new Print Technology Center, the most advanced newspaper printing plant in North America.

The $91 million printing plant, is located on 43 acres at 5000 Commerce Way, Franklin. The industrial park extends along I-75 north of the Ohio 73 interchange.

The paper's news, advertising and administrative offices with about 950 employees remain in downtown Dayton in our historic 1910 building at Fourth and Ludlow streets. Other employees are spread across the region in local news bureaus and distribution centers.
News and advertising data are transmitted by fiber-optic cable from the paper's downtown headquarters to the PTC, where printing plates are made and mounted on presses six stories tall.

The presses were manufactured by Koenig & Bauer-Albert AG of Wurzburg, Germany. The building was designed by Cleveland architect Celso Gilberti.
