Here you will find the winners and runners-up of the 12th annual Dayton Daily News Short Story and Poetry Contest. This is the fourth year in which we've sought poetry as part of the competition. The selection of poetry winners is from all three age categories: youth, teen and adult. Susan Iwinski, a poet from Kettering, was judged this year's "Best of Show" of all the approximately 800 local writers who entered. She wins a scholarship to the Antioch Writers Workshop held each summer in Yellow Springs, courtesy of the workshop's board. Congratulations to Susan and thanks to all the writers from across the Miami Valley who sent in work and who have continued to make this contest a success. We hope you enjoy reading their imaginative work as much as we did.
