New Kohls clothing line is inspired by famous artists
Tuesday, July 22, 2008
Shop at Kohl's and your kid can dress like one of his or her favorite celebrities — well sort of.
Kohl's Department Stores earlier this month announced it's 2008 back-to-school campaign for juniors and young men.
The "Inspired by the Artists ... worn by you" campaign includes partnerships between established manufacturers and actresses and musicians. Some of the pairs include Lenny Kravitz and Levi's; Hayden Panettiere and Candie's; Plain White T's and Urban Pipeline; The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and Tony Hawk; and Vanessa Carlton and SO.
Singer Avril Lavigne's Abbey Dawn label is also part of the campaign. It features a variety of pink, black, purple and gray punkish gear, including a shirt and tie that look reminiscent to the outfit Lavigne wore in the video for "Sk8ter Boi."
Abbey Dawn comes from the Canadian singer's childhood nickname. Designs feature stars, girly skulls and zebra print.
The song "Love Revolution" by Lenny Kravitz will be used as part of Kohl's campaign.
