Ohio the nerdiest state?

When all is said and done, it seems that Ohio has the most Steven Quincy Urkels. (Remember that nerdy sitcom character from the 1990s?)

Time magazine calls Ohio the nerdiest state in its article “Why Your State Sucks: The Great American Map of Fail.”

The magazine uses statistics to point out the worst (or maybe it is the best) thing about each state.

Believe me, there are worse things than being the nerdiest state. Arizona has the highest alcoholism rate; Arkansas has the worst average credit score; Colorado has the highest cocaine use per capita; Illinois has the highest rate of robbery; Louisiana has the highest rate of gonorrhea; Mississippi has the most obese people; Washington has most bestiality; and North Dakota had the ugliest residents.

See, being a nerd ain’t so bad.

Just in case you are wondering, the magazine has the lamest reason for ranking us the nerdiest. Ohio has highest number of library visits per capita, based on information from www.statemaster.com.

Really, Time magazine? Really?
