Tibetan monks make sand mandala at Dayton Metro Library

Tibetan monks from Drepung Gomang Monastic College in India, create a sand mandala symbolizing peace at the Dayton Metro Library in downtown Dayton on Tuesday, May 12. Several days in the making, the public can view the monks’ progress today and Thursday from noon to 8 p.m., and Friday from 1 to 6 p.m. A closing ceremony will be at 2 p.m. Saturday when the sand will be carried in a procession from the library to RiverScape, where it will be dispersed in the Great Miami River.
