Dakota Center, Inc. needs a volunteer to assist students with homework assignments via the Internet as well as tutor children in computer usage. Position is available Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Volunteer must be 18 years old. Volunteers also are being sought for the African American Read In on Friday, June 26, from 4 to 8 p.m. to help serve food, face painting, games and celebrating black literature with children. Must be 16 years old.

Citizen’s Motorcar Company, America’s Packard Museum is looking to start a Saturday afternoon or possibly Sunday afternoon restoration group. The museum is home of several unfinished rare and historically significant automobile restoration projects as well as continuing automobile maintenance issues. Skills needed from painting to assembly to minor mechanical work. If you have an interest in antique cars or historic architecture, there are other roles available to fit your interests, your skill set and your time availability.

Gospel Mission, Inc. needs youth worker volunteers to help on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. The children and volunteers are fed each night, play games, do a Bible lesson, then interact, disciplining when necessary, in an attempt to teach the children respect of property and one another. Must be at least 18 years old and pass a background check.

Society of the Improvement of Conditions for Stray Animals needs volunteers to help socialize their animals by assisting in the kennels and display areas. SICSA is looking for dedicated people of all ages to lend a helping hand. Volunteers can help walk, wash, groom and socialize the dogs and cats to help get them into loving homes. Opportunities are also available in the office area and Pet Facilitated Therapy visits. Flexible schedule available and volunteers must become members of SICSA to volunteer. Training provided.

Life Enrichment Center needs a volunteer truck driver to pick up donations in 22-foot truck on Monday or Tuesday mornings. Donations will go to feed the homeless and poor and be distributed to other agencies who serve similar populations. No heavy lifting required. Good driving record required. Truck provided and volunteer be at least 21 years old with valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Partners for Community Living needs volunteers to assist two individuals with a disability in creating and putting together their photo/scrapbooking album. All materials provided. Volunteer must be at least 18 years old and have the ability to be creative and have patience in working on the scrapbook and photo album.
