Two dog owners, Brooke Grider and Sue Davis, tried out the Water Bottle Crunchers, dog toys aimed at entertaining their pooches. The dogs liked the product; the owners think it was great, but costly.

WHAT IS IT? Water Bottle Crunchers

WHAT IT'S SUPPOSED TO DO: You can put a used water bottle into the animal-shaped cover. Dogs are supposed to love to crunch bottles and this allows them to do that safely and allows you to re-use water bottles.

HOW MUCH IT COSTS: $12

BROOKE GRIDER

DID IT WORK? Yes.

WHAT DID YOU LIKE ABOUT IT? It entertained my dog for an evening when I first gave it to her.

WHAT DID YOU DISLIKE ABOUT IT? It makes a lot of noise so you have to be careful when you let them play with it.

IS IT WORTH THE MONEY? It’s rather expensive for what it is, but if your dog really likes the feel and sound of crunching water bottles, it might be worth it. Also, the water bottle doesn’t break or shred like it would without the cover.

WOULD YOU BUY IT? If I couldn’t find other toys my dog liked, I might as a splurge.

WOULD YOU RECOMMEND IT? Possibly.

SUE DAVIS

DID IT WORK? Yes. It was well made and held up well when our dog played with the toy.

WHAT DID YOU LIKE ABOUT IT? I really like the idea of being able to reuse water bottles in an unconventional way. In addition, the cover protects your dog’s mouth from getting cut on sharp plastic edges of the water bottle when chewing.

WHAT DID YOU DISLIKE ABOUT IT? The price point is a little high.

IS IT WORTH THE MONEY? Yes.

WOULD YOU BUY IT? Yes.

WOULD YOU RECOMMEND IT? Yes.
