Holly Blair tested the Windex Outdoor All-in-one Glass Cleaning Tool.
WHAT IT'S SUPPOSED TO DO: Gives windows a streak-free shine in "half the time." No need to climb ladder to clean outside windows.
HOW MUCH IT COSTS: $14.99 for starter kit; $4.99 for two-pad replacement kit.
DID IT WORK? The product did work on my first-floor windows. I am not sure that it was any easier, or worked any better than using Windex and washing by hand. Plus, it still did not help at all with my second-floor windows.
WHAT DID YOU LIKE ABOUT IT? The end result is that my windows were clean.
WHAT DID YOU DISLIKE ABOUT IT? It is a lot more bother than just taking a rag and some Windex to the windows. I did not like having to drag the hose around and spraying the windows before and after. It took a lot more time and did not have that much better of an affect on the end result.
IS IT WORTH THE MONEY? Not particularly worth the money for me, because I only have a few first-floor windows. It seems to me that washing by hand is a lot more effective and fast. I think the hose adds a lot more mess to the cleaning of windows.
WOULD YOU BUY IT? I would not purchase this item in the future.
WOULD YOU RECOMMEND IT? Probably would not recommend to others. It is marketed as something that makes window washing easier, but in the end it is more hassle.
