Fleming’s steakhouse unveils three-course special for under $30, but there’s a catch

For those of you who dine at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar at The Greene in Beavercreek only during Restaurant Week — and you know who you are — the steakhouse has launched an offer that sounds an awful lot like Restaurant Week.

Every Sunday through Sept. 1, Fleming's is offering a three-course prime rib dinner for $29.95. Guests can choose from among the steakhouse's three salads — New Wedge, Fleming's Salad or Modern Caesar —followed by Fleming's prime rib served au jus, creamy horseradish and Dijon sauces, served with a side. They can then choose a dessert from the steakhouse's dessert menu. Total cost, before tax and tip: $29.95. Sunday nights only, however — the offer is not available any other day of the week.

Several other restaurants, including Jay’s Restaurant in Dayton, have adopted a virtually year-round restaurant-week style special offer of a three-course meal for a fixed price. Jay’s version offers a choice of two entrees and changes monthly.

And speaking of the Miami Valley Restaurant Association's Restaurant Week, it's coming up soon: July 28 through Aug. 4, with the "sneak peek" event set for July 24 at the Dayton Art Institute. Diners will be able to enjoy a three-course meal for $20.13, $25.13 or $30.13, depending on the price point chosen by the restaurant, with a portion of the proceeds going to charity.
