The city of Dayton bought most of the former Dayton Daily News site along West Fourth Street last spring.

The former Dayton Daily News building and the rest of the property was to be redeveloped for about 200 new apartments. That project unraveled after the city could not lift a deed restriction and developers could not obtain financing.

The Ludlow property has been vacant since April 2007. That year the newspaper relocated to a former NCR Corp. building at 1611 S. Main St.
In 2010, Cox Media Group Ohio also consolidated its local television and radio properties at the Main Street facility.
