This is the second year in a row Veleta’s tempranillo has received such an award, and the first time Veleta has received the “Best of Nation” designation for wineries from Spain.
“We feel very emotional about this honor,” said Nola Palomar, who, with her husband, Dayton-area physician Dr. Juan Palomar, founded Bodega Dominio Buenavista, maker of Veleta wines, near Granada in southern Spain nearly 15 years ago. The wines made their Dayton-area debut in 2003.
Veleta wines are distributed by Heidelberg Distributing and are available at several Dayton-area wine shops.
