Clark Co. community turns into ‘Wellville’ for a day

New Carlisle community members are welcomed to spend 'A Day in Wellville' Saturday morning at a one day health and wellness fair.

The fair will be held on Main and Washington Street from 10 a.m. to noon.

Clark County Combined Health District, and Family and Youth Initiatives got together with the New Carlisle Farmer's Market to provide 24 health fair vendors for fair goers, according to a release.

Vendors such as, Miami Valley Child Development Centers and Second Harvest Food Bank will provide games, music, and health screenings, according to a release.

Food will also be available along with produce at the grand opening of the New Carlisle Farmer's Market.

According to CCCHD, Clark County ranks high in obesity rates in both adults and children. The county also reports low rates of physical activity. They hope the fair will induce members of the community to utilize some of the resources available to them that are free or low cost, including bike trails and parks.

The Clark County Combined Health District is dedicated to providing information on health, wellness and environmental issues to its community through promotion of wellness, prevention of injury, and prevention of disease, according to their website.
