Sen. Clinton will deliver prosperity, husband says

RIVERSIDE — Former President Bill Clinton offered a pretty big promise to the approximately 1,400 people who showed up to see him on Thursday, Feb. 28, at Stebbins High School.
He said if Sen. Hillary Clinton is elected president, America will have even more prosperity than it did when he was president.

"She can reform the government to liberate it from the wealthy and well-connected who have driven this country into the ditch," said Clinton, in his second area stop of the evening to promote his wife's bid for the Democratic nomination over Sen. Barack Obama.
Under the Bush administration the rich got richer while middle class people were saddled with rising costs for health care, gasoline, food and college, said Clinton.
"This deal is not working. It is not working. She has a plan that will get America working again," he said.
The crowd roared their approval and some shouted "I love you, Bill." Part way through, a heckler carrying a "9/11 Truth Now" was escorted out by security as Secret Service agents and police quickly fanned out through the crowd.
Clinton called the group's belief that the 9/11 attacks were an "inside job" a "bunch of hokum."
Not missing a beat, he then launched into more attacks on the Bush administration for failing to enforce trade agreements, failure to cooperate with the rest of the world on global warming and nuclear nonproliferation and failure in Iraq.
If elected, Sen. Clinton would know she'd done a good job as president if at the end of her term she could "say yes to these questions," Clinton said.
"Are the American people better when I quit than when I started? Do our children have a brighter future? Number three, is this fascinating but dangerous world coming together or falling apart?"
