Homemade Lightsaber Duel of Epic Proportions

Thanks to Matt Zoller Seitz for turning me onto this video. He says, “Is it totally geeky to say I admire not just the immense amount of labor that must have gone into this, but the filmmakers’ obviously close scrutiny of George Lucas’ directorial tics? It is? Tough.” My thoughts exactly. It’s pretty freakin’ sweet, if you ask me. Plus, it was shot on video, just like the last two Star Wars movies. ;-)

This was very well thought out. The sword-play was well done and imaginative. It had some original moves not just typical stuff one would expect. I thought it was a little bit weak that Ryan came in from the right of the frame after he appeared defeated without explanation. There should have been a clone comment at least.

Poke around on this a bit more, Zack. I’m not a geek, but I live up to my neck in them, and if I’m not mistaken, Lucas saw this and hired the guy after he graduated. Wouldn’t blame him.
