I voted at Mt. Olive church in Trotwood. They have workers who didn’t show up and were very disorganized. I witnessed someone being allowed to vote showing only an insurance card which did not have the address on it. Do these people know the rules? If they are confronted they cave. Our Board of Elections needs to do some serious work before the Presidential election.
All went smooth up here in Troy. Lots of people, but things moved quickly and no real wait. All machines were working fine. Poll workers actually were smiling and helpful.

He is totally incompetent and gets very defensive when you try to help him. I also did not appreciate being asked three times to repeat my affiliation. Voted in Carlisle OH for the first time ever. Only one person voting besides myself. 5 volunteers for my precinct, 4 for the other. Took less than 5 minutes - only paper ballots were provided. It was 7:25 am and I was only the 13th ballot scanned.
voted @ a beavercreek church abt. noon. Not too difficult, but had to declare vocally party affiliation. I’m proud of my party, but they found it necessary to repeat it very loudly at least 3 times and they were seated at the same table next to each other. The staff was disorganized, when my husband went to turn his electronic card in they were rude and aked him “what he was doing?” Just turning the card in, I did just vote. They make the process too complicated!
Voted with paper ballot this morning at primary school in Cleveland Heights. Absolutely no problem at all. Lots of very helpful poll workers and was in and out in just a couple of minutes.
Voted at Horace Mann. Everything went very smoothly, I was the only person there at the time (1:30pm). And for those who complain about choosing a party, you have to. Primaries are not general elections, you are voting for the candidate you want to represent YOUR party in the November elections.
Kellie- r.e. - declaring a party - There is a reason they call it a “primary” election and not a “general” election. Duh. That is civics 101. Of course, you could vote “issues only” if you so wished.
Similar experience, though a lifelong Democrat. Constant comments and questions and insinuations about Republicans from all-female poll workers. I’m male and relatively well off, guess that spells Republican to some and justifies harassment.

I voted in Kettering at the Marshall Rd Church at 7:50 AM. Took half an hour. Found out I was registered as a Republican. When I told them I wanted to vote Democrat—I had to repeat this loud and several times because two of the confused workers at the table kept asking “Republican?”—they had me vote on a provisional ballot just because I was switching parties. In 20 years of voting, I’ve switched parties often in primaries, and I’ve never had to put up with this. It was ridiculous.
Voted in East Dayton today, poll workers were confrontational about provisional balloting, and I have some complaints about the additional level of complexity and paperwork added since 2006. Plus, my ballot was not remotely secret.
I went in a little after 11:00am, in Beavercreek, I went right to a touch screen machine within a minute upon getting there, I was out of there in less than 5 minutes.
Very smooth.

The punch card machines were empty the entire time I was there. I had to wait about 10 minutes to get on an electronic machine. No problems…hope the B’Creek school levy passes!
I voted in Franklin this morning @ 6:50. It would have been a lot faster had the man in front of me not argued about needing to declare himself a Republican or Democrat. He angrily discussed the necessity of that for @ 10 minutes before finally declaring himself a Republican (go figure) and finally moving on. I was finally able to vote problem-free as a proud DEMOCRAT!!

Arrived at 6:35 AM at Harrison Twp voting precint D to vote. About 40-50 people in line and 1 of the voting machine were down. Waited to 7:00 AM and the line didn’t move 3 more machine went down, now 4 0f the 8 machine not working. The poll worker didn’t offer paper ballot and seemed overhelmed by the process. Let get rid of these Diebold machines and get something that works! I will be back tonite to vote, hope the machines are working by then.Go Obama!

I voted in Kettering in D2B at 8:15 a.m. There were no lines, but all of the machines were in use. They asked my party affiliation, and wrote it down. I cast my vote, and then went to get a samich!
I voted yesterday downtown. Walked 8 blocks from work to the Board of Elections. There were about 70 people there when I arrived. Took about 45 minutes to get through the process.
The BoE were very organized and made the process go quickly. Kudos to them!
I voted this morning at Beavercreek High School in Beavercreek, Ohio. The district I am in had a line the full length of the gymnasium and there were 4 voting machines down that had been report 1 1/2 before but no one had been there to look at. I talked to several people in line, and everyone seemed to be enthusiastic. As a Republican, I could not vote for a Democrat but for the first time, I may end up voting Democratic in the fall if Obama wins the primary. :)

I voted at Thurgood Marshall High Scool in West Dayton where only half the machines were up and working due to the wrong machines(Programmed for West Carrollton district) were sent our facility so half of the people at my location at 0710 this morning had to use paper ballots
I voted in Miami Township at Cox Arboretum around 8:00 a.m. and had no problems at all. The poll workers were very attentive and friendly and I was in and out within ten minutes.
I voted at the Eagles in West Milton. Everything went very well, the workers were pleasant and very helpful. It wasn’t crowded but it was still very early. It’s an honor to be able to vote.
I voted this morning at the American Legion in New Lebanon and my experience was pleasant. We had a good turn out but not a long wait. I took my 8 year old son with me so he could get an idea what it is like to vote.
I voted in Riverside. The front door was very hard to open and at first I thought they were closed. I told them about it and they propped it open. I asked for a paper ballot but I was told it would be considered provisional and not counted for 10 days so I voted on the computer. I had my id.
Vandalia - I bought a house 3 years ago and have voted in every election for the last 17 years. Once again, they did not have my name listed and I was forced to vote provisional rather than registered. I went through the same thing during the last election and was told it would be taken care of. It was very frustrating. I can only hope my vote will count!
I voted at Maria Joseph in Trotwood and they changed the location on the campus without notifying voters nor were there visible signs to inform voters of such a change. Consequently it greatly inconvenienced and discouraged some voters who assumed Maria Joseph was no longer a voting precinct. I had to approach the security guard, who was sitting in the car observing the whole scene, who decided to let voters know where they needed to go on the campus to vote. Most of these voters were elderly.
I showed up before 7:00 am this morning, and had no problems! The lady ahead of me was changing parties and had to fill out a form which also required she state a reason for the change. (They said it could be anything.) I had never heard of that. My wife later called me to say she cast her vote for the same Presidential candidate that I did. The election is fun this year.
In Vandalia got there just a little after the polls opened. Of the approximately 10 voting booths they had only two were operational. After waiting, someone did show up and get them up and running.

Because I wanted a paper ballot instead of the electronic machine card (which can be hacked), the poll worker in Englewood wanted to mark me down as a “Provisional” ballot voter on the register even though I showed my proper ID. I told her that was NOT correct. I was polite, but firm in my insistence that I be put in the register as a true registered voter, not a Provisional. After she called the Board of Elections, she confirmed that I was correct.
In Beavercreek there was quite a lineup by 6:30, we were at the front of the line and things were going smoothly but still with quite a lineup (probably 40-50 people) when we left.
Everything went smoothly. I was expecting longer lines, and though it was more crowded than I’ve ever seen…I was pleased with how my polling staff conducted business!
The sign saying optical ballots was placed where it wouldn’t be seen until the voters were leaving the room. I would have asked for one, especially since only one machine was working, and when the poll workers called for help with the machines, all they could get was a recording that the voice mail box had not been set up yet!

Did the Absentee voting yesterday. It was painless and just as quick or quicker than going to my polling place.
