Trotwood, named for Betsy Trotwood (the Charles Dickens character), is a city in Montgomery County, Ohio, United States. The population was 27,420 at the 2000 census.
Trotwood is the home of Hara Arena, where the annual Dayton Hamvention is held Every year. Thousands of Amateur Radio Operators from around the world attend this convention.
The Trotwood-Madison prom was held at the Miami Valley Career Technology Center in Clayton Saturday, April 28, 2012.

An undercover Dayton police officer is recovering from a gunshot wound to the back after he was shot in front of a bar in Trotwood early Saturday morning. The suspected shooter was also injured and with a non-life threatening injury. The Montgomery County Sheriff's office is overseeing the investigation, which involves a dragnet with other local police and federal agencies.
