Boeing receives $46 million contract for F-22 work

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE — Boeing Co. has been awarded a $46 million contract to design and test new software and systems for the F-22 Raptor aircraft to support training programs for flying crews.
The equipment is to allow the F-22 to be incorporated into an Air Force training system that will enable Raptor pilots to train with other air crews flying different simulated aircraft at locations around the world.

The F-22 is being built by prime contractor Lockheed Martin Corp. in partnership with Boeing and Pratt & Whitney, using components provided by about 1,000 suppliers in 44 states. Pratt & Whitney provides the engines for the fighter.
The Aeronautical Systems Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base oversees the production and sustainment of the F-22 Raptor. The planes are assembled at Lockheed Martin's plant in Marietta, Ga. The F-22 is a key plane in the Air Force's program for modernizing its combat fleet.
