The assault reportedly took place at 6:50 p.m. on Friday in the room of a 63-year-old woman, Dayton police Lt. John Bardun said.
The accused is a 44-year-old male who also is a patient at the nursing home at 3650 Klepinger Road, and who uses a wheelchair due to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, according to police.
He was arrested and taken to Montgomery County Jail, but Bardun said the jail refused to accept him because of the wheelchair.
He has since been transferred to Grandview Hospital for medical treatment, Bardun said.
