Drunken jaywalker wants his beer back

A roundup of unusual and noteworthy items from area police departments:
DAYTON — Jan. 12: Officers patrolling at Shell gas station, 1224 S. Main St., observed a male staggering across the street. He took a can of Steel Reserve beer from a paper bag, wadded up the bag, threw it in the street, then opened the can.

Police stopped him to issue citations for jaywalking and open container. One of the officers asked the subject, who was intoxicated, for his identification and took the beer from him.
The subject became agitated and began yelling and cursing, "Is that all you ... have to do all day is harass senior citizens?"
The subject was told to lower his voice and produce his ID. He continued yelling and cursing about the beer. He was arrested for disorderly conduct and issued citations for public intoxication and jaywalking.
