KETTERING — A man wanted in connection with a robbery at a Fifth Third Bank location turned himself in to Kettering Police Tuesday night.

Charges are being sought against Chad J. Boehmer, 29, of 684 Walden Way in Kettering for aggravated robbery, according to Jennifer Smithhart, public information officer for the Kettering Police Department.

Smithhart said the police department received a number of tips after video footage of the robber was released to the media.

The investigation will continue, Smithhart said.

During the June 9 robbery, a man walked into the bank at 1948 E. Whipp Road and displayed a note asking for money, Smithhart said. "The note stated he had a gun," she said. He fled on foot with an undetermined amount of cash, she said.

The police are also investigating a robbery of the Bigger Road Drive-Thru, 5884 Bigger Road, at 11 p.m. June 7, Smithhart said.

In that case two men entered the drive-thru on foot, assaulted the employee with their hands, then escaped with an undetermined amount of cash and the cash register, she said. The employee was treated at Kettering Medical Center and released, she said.

There's videotape of the drive-thru robbery but it's still being analyzed, Smithhart said.
