SPRINGFIELD — Rolled back prices aren't the only things that can be found at Wal-Mart; those lucky enough also can find love.

Chester "Chet" Elridge and Danna Hornbeck met at the store's employee orientation.

She agreed to their first date in the furniture section and the couple married in the lawn and garden department Thursday.

"We've come around all the way now," Elridge said after his Wal-Mart wedding.

Elridge, 51, is a supervisor at the store's Tire & Lube Express and his new misses, 45, is a supervisor in arts and crafts.

The two met in March and got engaged a month ago, Chet said, and when a manager suggested the two say "I do" at the store, Danna thought it was a good idea.

"We met here, he asked me out here," she said. "Why not?"

Customer service supervisor Kendra Kitzmiller said she believe its the first time anyone has had their nuptials in the store at 200 S. Tuttle Road.

"We're very proud to be a family-oriented store," said Kitzmiller, one of the wedding organizers.

The bride was given away by a former Wal-Mart employee, and lawn chairs were set up for the audience.

Flowers — both on sale for $3.88 and arrangements put together by co-workers — adorned the area, and the wedding cake was courtesy of Wal-Mart's bakery.

In another unique twist, Chet made the couples' wedding rings out of melted-down quarters because he can't wear gold; he thought it would be more special.

Like any wedding, the ceremony had its SNAFUS — including an "Attention Wal-Mart shoppers," announcement that broke into the ceremony.

But after the minister pronounced the couple husband and wife, the cheers could be heard in customer service on the other side of the store.
