DAYTON — City fire officials are investigating the cause of a fire Monday at Meadowdale High School that was initially believed to have been electrical in nature.
There were no reported injuries stemming from the fire, which Dayton Public Schools spokeswoman Jill Moberley said was reported at 2:02 p.m. just as students were dismissing for the day.

An evacuation was ordered at the school, 4417 Williamson Drive, where as many as 972 students are enrolled.
Meadowdale will be open for school today, Moberley said Monday night.
She said the fire was contained to a corner of one second-floor classroom, which is not in use.
There was no immediate damage estimate, but Moberley said the damage was not extensive.
Initial reports broadcast via police and fire communication radio channels, which are monitored by media outlets, indicated the cause of the fire was thought to be electrical.
Dayton Fire Department investigators were at the school and could not be reached later for comment.
