KETTERING — James Free Jewelers will announce Friday plans to build a new showroom, according to Dave Tellman, marketing director for the jewelry company.
"We're going to tear down the existing building," Tellman said of the current showroom, located at 3100 Far Hills Ave. Once the new building is built, the location of the current building will turn into parking lot for the new building.
Extras
The new showroom will be 15,000 square feet, Tellman said. K&A Architecture designed the building and the contractor is Oberer Thompson.
The company will be adding some new watch and designer lines, but Tellman declined to disclose specific details about the new items.
Michael Karaman, the owner, bought the jewelry company from James Free in the late 1980s, Tellman said. The current building used to be a dry cleaning business in the 1950s and has been operating since 1940.
The company will have a groundbreaking ceremony at 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 15.
