SPRINGBORO — You might say The Cake Ladies got the business from the Rachael Ray Show.
Cookies baked at the Springboro bakery won't be fed anytime soon to the studio audience for Ray's Emmy-winning show, co-owners Julianna Scheaffer and Maura Leavitt said Tuesday.

"I guess they didn't realize we were a home-based business," said Scheaffer who lives with her family in the white house at 310 S. Main St., which also is the storefront for the Springboro bakery.
Earlier this month, The Cake Ladies shipped samples of chocolate crinkles, chocolate chip, sugar and "oatmeal bliss" cookies to the show.
"At first it was just fun to send our basket to Rachael Ray," Scheaffer said.
They believed the samples would be used to decide which cookie would serve as a snack of the day for an upcoming show. However labels on the samples revealed theirs is a home-based business.
The Cake Ladies said show officials said they had liability concerns about using food prepared by a home-based business.
"We were, of course, really disappointed," Leavitt said.
Show officials couldn't be reached.
