SPRINGBORO — Drug agents seized 11 small baggies of cocaine and two cars on Feb. 14 from the home of Mike "The Donut Man" Hemmert, the same day he submitted his resignation to the Springboro City Council, authorities said.
"I'll confirm we have an investigation and are attempting to pursue charges," Commander John Burke of the Warren County drug task force said Friday, Feb. 22. This is primarily a personal use situation ... a heavy personal use."

Drug paraphernalia was also seized, Burke said.
Authorities have yet to present evidence to a grand jury.
Hemmert remained free Friday.
The drug task force, rather than local police, was "leading the charge," Mayor John Agenbroad said.
While aware "something was going on," Agenbroad said he and the rest of the council accepted Hemmert's stated reasons for resignation.
"He gave us his resignation, citing health reasons. We accepted it as that," Agenbroad said. "We weren't told."
Hemmert was part of a group running against Agenbroad and incumbent council members in the November election.
"Even though he was on the opposite team in the election, I don't wish this on anybody," the mayor said.
On Thursday, Feb. 21, the Springboro City Council met to discuss replacing Hemmert — six weeks after he took office following an upset victory in the at-large council race.
Earlier Thursday, at his business, The Donut Haus, Hemmert declined to elaborate on the reasons for his resignation.
