HAMILTON — A Hamilton man on the run for two years after being charged in connection with the rape of a child has pleaded guilty to that crime.
Louis Bonilla, 30, originally from El Salvador, entered the plea Monday, Feb. 25, before Butler County Common Pleas Judge Noah Powers. He faces up to 10 years in jail and is scheduled to be sentenced April 1.

In June 2005, Bonilla, formerly of Timberline Drive, was charged with rape for alleged sexual conduct with a 10-year-old girl who was known to him. He was arraigned in Hamilton Municipal Court and then posted bond but did not return for a scheduled court appearance.
In October, Bonilla was arrested in Maryland, where the outstanding warrant was discovered.
If not deported upon release from prison, Bonilla will be required to register with the sheriff every 90 days for the rest of his life.
"It never ceases to amaze me that an individual would think about sex with a 10-year-old," said Butler County Prosecutor Robin Piper. "He's earned the maximum sentence and hopefully will receive 10 years for his utterly abhorrent behavior."
