Daughter indicted after mom found sitting in own feces

DAYTON — A woman arrested after authorities found her 63-year-old mother sitting in her own feces and suffering from insect-infested wounds has been indicted by a Montgomery County grand jury.
Lisa McDevitt, 34, faces charges of felony failure to provide for a functionally impaired person and misdemeanor child endangering.

Her daughter, 7, was living in an apartment Dayton police said was in deplorable shape. McDevitt was arrested March 22 after a woman called for an ambulance to report her mother was suffering a seizure at her apartment on Ritchie Street.
Medics found an apartment filled with cockroaches, feces and maggots. Sharon McDevitt, the mother, is disabled and cannot care for herself, police said.
